Administrative Director, RN ED.

The Emergency Department Administrative Director oversees, with the Emergency Department Medical Director, the daily operations of a busy 24/7 satellite emergency facility, expected to serve 35,000 patients this year from a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population. The EBNHC satellite emergency facility is being renovated to better serve our East Boston community for any urgent needs. This role is predominantly administrative in nature; this full-time position also includes clinical practice requirements. An experienced Emergency Medicine nurse manager, master’s prepared (MBA/MNA) nurse manager, or Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with extensive clinical and administrative experience in Emergency Medicine is welcomed.
Under the guidance of the senior clinical management team and in collaboration with the Emergency Department Medical Director, the Administrative Director will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the department’s ongoing service delivery system and redesign efforts.
Education & Training:
- Bachelor's required, Master's preferred. Extensive experience will be taken into consideration over education.
- Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with an ED background.
- Nurse manager experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible supervisory and management experience, ideally in an Emergency Department or in Critical Care.
- Experience applying Lean concepts to clinical workflows is a plus.
- Experience serving a diverse patient population preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word; Electronic Medical Records).
